Crazy hair day......

Last Friday it was Crazy Hair Day at Welby.  Mike was out of town and I had to work on Thursday night and so my sweet niece Avery stayed with the boys and drove all over looking for colored hair gel unsuccessfully.  A few nurses told me to use red jello in their sleep deprived state and so on my way home, in my exhausted sleep deprived state, I bought red jello. I mixed it with conditioner and water and colored his hair red.  He was so thrilled since it was the school color.  Later that day my friend at work, who had told me to use the jello, texted me and told me not to use the jello and that it would stain his hair for at least 2 weeks if not longer and she had found this out after talking to her daughter who is a hair dresser. As soon as Dylan came home from school, I saw how much red I had actually put into his hair.  I called my sister-in-law who is a hair dresser and she told me to use baking soda.  I also spoke with my hair dresser and she was laughing and told me to use dish washing soap as well as the baking soda. We washed his hair with both and then put a strong conditioner on his hair.  Luckily, it came out and Dad could not even tell when he came home that night. Thank Heavens.  Dylan thought it was great and he wanted me to leave it in , "for forever."

Tate....

Tate is such a great boy!  I know every mom feels like this for her child and I just want him to know how much his parents adore him.  He is handsome, smart, and full of personality.  Mrs. Aimee told me that she has loved having him in preschool and what a good boy he is.  He has a very strong conscience and is always asking us Gospel questions about what he learns in Primary. He loves to color, build Lego's, watch Tom and Jerry, and play with friends.  Mrs.Aimee gave parents a  review on what their child needs to work on before Kindergarten and she told us that he is more then ready to go this next year to Kindergarten.  He passed off everything and her comment was, "he is doing awesome, he is very smart, and he is all ready for Kindergarten." He is counting to 40 and knows his letters and colors.  He is even starting to read just like Dylan did.  He is such a loving little boy and every day he tells each person in our family, "I love you," and he means it so sincere.  My favorite is when he hugs Dylan and says, "I love you brother."  They are really close. Here are some snapshots I have taken of him lately.

 He loves Color Wonder.
Pajama day at preschool with his blanket and glow pillow.

Tate showed this Lego car to Mike one day and claimed he made it. Mike didn't believe it and thought either Dylan or I had helped him. When we started investigating we found that Tate had indeed built it all by himself. We were amazed because it was so intricate.  Mike said he is going to recruit him to build Dylan's Pinewood Derby car. We may have a strong engineer in the family.

 Here is the car.
Tate also built this car. He is really good at Legos. While Mike was out of town I had worked a night shift and Tate stayed home with me after working all night. He was so good about letting me sleep and came and woke me up when he needed to. I took him to the store to choose a toy and the toy he chose was a Lego set. He loves legos!

Dylan and Jr. Jazz

Dylan was really good at basketball this year.  In one game he was able to make 3, 2 point shots and he was known as a strong guard this year.  He had a great year and really enjoyed it.

Tate plays Jr. Jazz......

Tate played Jr. Jazz this year and it was pretty funny.  It seems just like yesterday that Dylan was here.  It was pretty funny to watch and he learned a lot about basketball.

More photos from City Creek and Temple Square....

I  was mad at Dylan for pulling this face for the camera.  I think he was tired of photos!

I was sitting behind Mike and Dylan while Mike was teaching Dylan all about the Tabernacle and how he was baptized here.  These have become some of my favorite photos.

Temple Lights....

We went with the Rowley family after Christmas to see the Temple lights with the kids.  The lights were beautiful and we ended the night at City Creek having dinner and playing with cousins until 10:30 pm.

The boys love "baby Ryker," and even though he is no longer a baby they still refer to him as a baby.  Dylan was helping him out throughout the night.
Playing with cousins.

Christmas Trees....

The kids decorated their Charlie Brown Tree. They love doing this at Christmas and Dylan asked multiple times starting after Thanksgiving if they could decorate it. It has become a tradition.

We read a Christmas book every night during December.

Now that the boys are older and they know what fragile means, I could decorate this year without worry that things would get broken.  I loved my Christmas Tree this year.  It took me a great deal of time, but it turned out beautiful and the village was at its best this year.

Christmas celebration with Grandpa and Grandma Green...

When we came back from Parowan we celebrated the Holiday with Grandpa and Grandma Green.  We had a few gifts that Santa left here including a trampoline and some Nerf swords. It was fun to celebrate with Grandpa and Grandma Green.

Grandpa and Grandma Green gave the boys these lights.  They are coming downstairs to open their gifts.

I did not get a picture of the boys seeing their trampoline.  It was in the box with a note that it was from Santa and needed to stay in the box until Spring.

Christmas Day.....

The boys waiting anxiously to open their gifts from Santa....

 Grandma got her bike. Surprise!
The boys loved the remote control cars.

We went to the Church to play with the remote control cars.  This is memorable because this is the Church I attended as a child and the Church building was demolished and a new one was just built.
