Owen's baptism....

Owen was baptized in September and we were so happy to celebrate the day with him.  He had a very special day and we are so glad he chose to become a member of  The Church of Jesus Christ. We love you Owen....
Mike was able to get a photo of the "Sister Friends," together. Love these girls! We have had great times together, shared many memories, and have supported each other through thick and thin. There were a few years that we lost track of each other and then we were able to reconnect. I know the Lord's hand was involved in our reunion. We refer to each other as "Sister Friends," since we each have sisters.  Cute Julie also joined us in the photo. Isn't she beautiful?
Dylan, Josh, and Owen. Handsome boys I must say.....

Karate Birthday Chops....

Since I am uploading videos, I thought I would share Tate receiving his "Birthday Chops," from his Sensai (karate master). He looked so forward to this event and I am glad Mike captured it on video.

I am Spiderman.........

Tate is now climbing the walls (door frames) claiming he is the Spiderman. Life is never dull with this boy around. Mike told him he could not climb anymore unless it is a rock wall that we take him to. I caught him tonight in action as Mike is out of town. His dad saw the video and told me to let him know when he needs stitches or a cast.

Love General Conference.....

 Good Timber
The tree that never had to fight
For sun and sky and air and light,
But stood out in the open plain
And always got its share of rain,
Never became a forest king
But lived and died a scrubby thing.

The man who never had to toil

To gain and farm his patch of soil,
Who never had to win his share
Of sun and sky and light and air,
Never became a manly man
But lived and died as he began.

Good timber does not grow with ease:

The stronger wind, the stronger trees;
The further sky, the greater length;
The more the storm, the more the strength.
By sun and cold, by rain and snow,
In trees and men good timbers grow.

Where thickest lies the forest growth,

We find the patriarchs of both.
And they hold counsel with the stars
Whose broken branches show the scars
Of many winds and much of strife.
This is the common law of life.

This is one of my favorite weekends of the year. I love to listen to General Conference and hear from our wonderful Prophet and his Apostles. President Monson shared one of my favorite poems. I immediately thought of the photos I had just looked at that were taken when we hiked the Temple Quarry. I thought of how the leaves on the trees change and how the branches endure all the changes, winds, storms, and they give beauty for others to enjoy. Just like our wonderful Prophet does. I loved President Monson's analogy. My other favorite talks have been President Uchtdorf's and Elder Holland's. Mike and I love how Elder Holland shares his own experiences with life's trials and shows compassion and caring. His talks are so eloquent, but carry such a deep meaning. We also loved Elder Bednar's talk on tithing. I have had times in my life when it has been difficult to pay tithing and I must admit I have been judgemental as to where the tithes may go. I have had to ask for forgiveness because in the end I have seen how blessed my family has been because we have made it a priority to pay tithing. Mike is such a great spouse for me this way. When I was struggling with the tithing aspect he reassured me that the blessings would come and he insisted that it was paid. I am amazed at his diligence even when we have been given trials he always perseveres. He is such a great husband and wonderful father.  Other things I love about conference is our traditional breakfast of eggs and pancakes (the boys love this), going to church in your PJ's, and being together as a family. We also love to listen to conference and take a ride in the mountains looking at the Fall leaves.

Hike at the Temple Quarry.......

 I have stated on the blog before that one of our favorite places to spend time together as a family is in the beautiful Utah mountains.  We hiked the Temple Quarry a few weeks ago for family night and ate KFC in the mountains. It was such a spiritual experience with the boys because we were able to teach them about all the hard work our ancestors did in building the Temple. Mike also shared a short lesson about the Creation and how we are fortunate to have the beauty of the mountains and all of  God's Creations. The boys had a great time hiking up the rocks and looking at all the different types of rocks. Nothing is better than the crisp Fall air and a hike in the mountains.

 The boys are such great friends and they really watch out for each other. I hope they will always be close and continue to help each other throughout life. I am so grateful for my siblings and I still consider them my close friends.

 I really liked these photos that I was able to take of Dylan. He is usually camera shy lately so this rarely happens. Love this handsome boy who is growing so fast....

 Tate was camera shy this time, which he usually loves to show off his smiles. He was simply busy climbing on all the rocks.
