A change in life...

With some changes we have been having in our home, I came across this quote from President Monson and I wanted to share.
"Throughout our lives, we must deal with change. Some changes are welcome; some are not. There are changes in our lives that are sudden, such as the unexpected passing of a loved one, an unforeseen illness, the loss of a possession we treasure. But most of the changes take place subtly and slowly. I plead with you to not let those most important things pass you by as you plan for that illusive and nonexistent future when you will have time to do all that you want to do. Instead, find joy in the journey -now."

It was in the Conference talk in 2008 and I really liked it. I have had to ponder many changes in the past couple of years. I realize now that change can be a great blessing.

It's now 2011, but rewind to 2010.

My blog really reflects my busy life. I need to recap our wonderful Christmas and our celebration of welcoming 2011. We had a wonderful Christmas. Santa arrived with the gifts the boys had asked for, and a few suprises, so they were all smiles:)
I have not blogged about one of our best memories this Christmas, which was the Rowley Christmas party Monica had at her home in Panguitch. The weather cooperated and we had such a great time with family. The boys always love spending time with their cousins and my sister did a fabulous job planning and preparing. Mr. and Mrs. Claus even came to visit and to confirm the wish list.
My sister was a trooper having the party after Daltyn had been in the hospital and I know it took a lot of work. Thanks Monica!

Boston and Tate in their pajamas that Santa brought. (Thank you Grandma).

The kids re-enacted the Nativity. Dylan and Riley were Joseph and Mary and Grandpa Rowley read the story from Luke. It was a little chaotic at the end when Joseph dissapeared and put a box over his head (boys will be boys).
We had a traditional Christmas Eve dinner with Grandpa and Grandma Green at our home and then went to our favorite nativity scene and read the story of our Savior's Birth. This tradition helps us to focus on the real meaning of Christmas and also calms down the excited children. The boys wanted to sleep in the same room this year and so they were in Dylan's room on the aerobed. Tate struggled to fall asleep! I thought Dylan would be the child that would keep Santa waiting;I was wrong.

Christmas morning before we all went to see what the jolly old man had delivered down the chimney.
Sparky, our family elf, had left a note for the boys and thanked them for feeding the reindeer. Sparky reminded them that he will be keeping his eye on them until next Christmas.

Tate was thrilled to get his, "blue motorcycle," and Santa brought a Criss Cross Crash Set and Kung Zhu gadgets for Dylan. Tate also was excited about his ride on motorcyle. My highlight of the day was helping Dylan set up his Lego City. I must say I could sit and play legos with my boys all day (which I did a good part of the day).

Christmas Day, we went to Grandpa and Grandma Green's home and then relaxed here at home while the kids played with their new gidgets.

Grandpa and Grandma Rowley came for New Year's and we enjoyed their visit.

One of Dylan's favorite things. Grandpa and Grandma Rowley gave him this sleeping bag and pillow and he sleeps in it every night. He had us laughing when he told us, "Grandma Rowley really knew what she doing when she bought this," (referring to this gift).

Dylan and his friend, Payton, playing "Boba Fett" and a "Storm Trooper."
I was not the best at capturing photos, but we did capture many memories. We did welcome the New Year with having a pizza party at our home with the Rowley Grandparents and Uncle Nick and Aunt Bridgette. We had a great time dancing to "Just dance," and I must say we have some great dancers in our family including Mike, Grandpa and Nick. I am sure wishing I would have snapped some photos of that event. Now on to January and Junior Jazz. We are also going to try and sneak away for some adult time over a weekend during January or February. Happy New Year!
